I don't like drawing artificial landscapes or architecture, so I picked a poem that would allow me to do something more surreal. I've always liked fashion design, patterns and decorative work. I went with a decorative, art deco style. I wouldn't say that I am a romantic person or an astrological person; the subject was the moon and the earth, so I felt like they should be in the image. I took the poem really literally, with the moon and the clouds getting close to the earth. I decided to do a crescent moon. The waves represent Earth. I felt like the closeness to each other showed togetherness. I like the contrast that came out of it, between the colors, and I'm happy with the way it came out.
