I came to Syracuse in 2008 from New Paltz to work with at-risk youth on the North Side. I had to ride buses, and I had to make transfers, so I was out in the cold a lot. In this haiku, I wanted to give people a feeling of what it's like to stand outside in the wind and cold.
I don't usually write haiku. Many of my poems have to do with nature and the seasons. I often tie in people's lives with nature, many times looking at how human beings react to the circumstances they have
