Blossoms burst above!
A lacey white canopy
reigns in Franklin Square.
I've submitted a couple of poems, but this is the first one selected. I used to work at Eric Mower and Associates, an ad agency that was located on Plum Street in Franklin Square. In the springtime the street is a mass of white blossoms. They all bloom at once and it's just beautiful.
I think the Poster Project is a wonderful way to promote Syracuse and Central New York. I always look forward to seeing the creative things the writers and illustrators put together. We don't always see Central New York in a positive light, but it really is a beautiful area and a great place to live. I think we should celebrate that!
The city of Syracuse seems to be bringing in new life to an old industrial area. That is what attracted me to this poem. The water tower has an undeniable presence in this space and it was the main point of inspiration for this print. I hope that the flowers against the water tower show the new life being brought into this city.
